Clarke Cottage Guest House, hotel in Dunfermline

Clarke Cottage Guest House is located in Dunfermline. This 3-star guest house offers a shared lounge and luggage storage space. Free WiFi and free private parking is available.

The property is located within easy walking distance of the Dunfermline Queen Margaret Railway station and several bus stops that can get you into town and back in under ten minutes. There is also a walking path that runs parallel to the main road and can bring you into town in about 30 minutes on foot. The proprietor was very kind and explained everything clearly. The setting was very cozy, with homely decor, comfortable furniture and wood accents. The dining area was beautiful with wood beams and natural light. The structure is right off a busy street but the sturdy walls and double glazed windows do a remarkable job of blocking the noise even at street level. The room was prepared in advance with both fresh air and a comfortable temperature. The in-room mini-fridge and ensuite (private bathroom) were extremely helpful. Room also included a place to sit, built-in wardrobe, television, desk space, alarm clock and bed-side table lamp. Black out curtains did a good job of blocking the light from the street, and the bed was very comfortable. The place felt very clean, safe and secure. Both pillows provided were a bit firm for me, and since I like some weight to the bedding the single duvet was a bit light, but I slept well nonetheless and I expect that additional blankets would have been provided had I requested them. The hot and cold bathroom taps are separate and a bit short, but the wash basin was nice and large. A shelf to set things would have been convenient. The water pressure of the shower was neither high nor low and the temperature was sufficiently hot, although it seemed to ignore my adjustments to increase it. I did hear a bit of activity outside the room in the morning, but it was muffled.

A gem of a city, and a secret that now the people of Edinburgh are cottoning onto. It's got a beautiful Heritage Quarter with loads of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Fantastic old buildings, a huge amount of history and one of the most beautiful parks in the world - Pittencrieff Park - is glorious. It really is like a mini-Edinburgh without the fuss and crowds, and such a lovely place to hang out.

We travelled to visit Knockhill Racing Circuit for a booked experience day. Arrived on a lovely sunny day so decided to visit Pittencrief park on our way to the hotel (Adamson Hotel in crossford) where we had a great walk around the park and encountered many of the beautiful sights including the squirrels. All in all a wonderful visit and we will definitely be back at some point in the (hopefully not too distant) future

Lovely modern looking hotel, few mins from the main hustle and bustle of dunfermline. Free parking is always a bonus to myself when i choose to stay somewhere. Was a great price we paid for a last min family trip. The check in staff was lovely and was super quick in bringing a travel cot round to the toom when there wasnt already one there like we requested. Even set it up for us which was super nice! The heating was on so the rolm was lovwly and warm, the wifi worked really well. The room was fairly big also.

The cottage was very comfortable and was perfect for our stay. We'd stayed in a hotel for a few days prior to getting to the cottage and for the same price, we had a bedroom, large living room, bathroom, kitchen and garden. The property was only 10 minutes walk from a supermarket and take-away places and 20 minutes to Dunfermline railway station. We were visiting the Edinburgh Fringe and tattoo and it was esy to get into Edinburgh from the property !

small village Inn that is operated by amazing, personable and friendly people. They have a great little pub and restaurant. The food at the restaurant was superb! There is a bus stop literally 50 feet from the Inn that will take you to Dunfermline for £2. The Abby and the Andrew Carnegie museum are an absolute MUST VISIT while in the area! The Inn at Charlestown is a very charming place that I would definitely recommend!

The room was spacious, extremely clean, well decorated, and the view was wonderful - it looked out over the harbor. We had lunch in the restaurant the day we arrived and breakfast the next morning and it was delicious with excellent service. The location is perfect for sightseeing. Close to Dunfermline, Culross, and several other locations, with just a short drive to Edinburgh.

Newly renovated family run hotel. Room was small but more than adequate. Good WIFI. Breakfast was good, but lacked some pastries. Restaurant was very nice and the food was above expectations. Location worked for us as we had a car, but there is a bus stop just outside the property. We stayed here for multiple nights due to good value at that time.

Loved the Hotel and restaurant. Spacious room and for £20 more with Hotel booking got big breakfast. Dinner was great here too. Super friendly staff. Would deffinatly stay there again if we ever go back to Dunfermline. Close enough location to the Abby where my 21x 22x and 24x ggf King Robert the Bruce is buried.
